Why Mangroves are important to the mangrove communities and the world

I participated in the Mangrove Action Project's Mangrove Art Calendar Contest with this artwork I created. I learned about the vital role mangroves play in the lives of coastal communities and marine life, the threats that they face from garbage and marine debris, among other threats. My art will be shown in a calendar which help further MAP’s mission of conserving, restoring, and protecting the world’s invaluable mangrove forests.
