Pacific SOS, a project rooted in Pacific Island storytelling traditions, is a platform that gives voice to Pacific Islander youth and promotes climate justice through Sharing Our Stories (SOS). Firsthand testimonies of the impacts of climate change in these countries help connect us with the human side of climate change beyond the abstract facts and figures we often read about.

The stories are often SOS calls for recognition and help for climate justice. The Pacific Islands contribute only 0.03% of global carbon emissions, yet are among the most vulnerable and disproportionately affected by the effects of climate change.  They are on the frontlines of climate change with rising sea levels, flooding and droughts, coastal erosion, loss of ecosystems and extreme weather patterns.

But beyond the doom and gloom, we also highlight their hopes and learn about solutions, whether from traditional practices, indigenous knowledge or modern technology, being implemented on the islands.

A beacon of hope, Pacific SOS empowers youth, offers insights for other regions, and raises awareness to encourage leaders and individuals to recognise the far-reaching impacts of their decisions -prompting responsibility and action for climate justice, and a sustainable future.
